Dr. Lakhanpal on his inspiration for becoming a physician and his motivation for working with cancer patients:
“I was 11 years old when I had an opportunity to read about a biography of Dr. Albert Sweitzer, my hero! This pioneering soul had a great impact on my future career choice as a physician.
‘One who gains strengths by overcoming obstacles, possesses the only strength that can overcome adversity’ –my favorite quote from Dr. Sweitzer
My life is dedicated to my idols namely-Mother Teresa, Dr. Albert Sweitzer and last, but not least, Dr. Patch Adams. Dr. Adams is in my mind, the ideal doctor. He’s hard to emulate but not impossible.
I am nothing, just a little speck on the infinitesimal radar of life. If I could color the gray skies of one home, I will be delighted with my presence on His Earth. This is my take on life. “
