Laura attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. She began her nursing career working in the medical ICU at UAB with patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation.  Laura was also an adjunct clinical instructor in the UAB School of Nursing.  She graduated from UAB with a Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in 2013.    Laura began work as an adult/gerontology nurse practitioner in March 2014 at UAB and then later at the Grandview Cancer Center in the radiation therapy department.  She spent time working as a clinical research trial navigator with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society before joining Alabama Oncology in May 2023.
