How long is a chemotherapy treatment?
The length of a chemotherapy treatment varies greatly because drugs are infused at different rates. The safe infusion of medication is of the utmost importance to our staff.
Your nurses will explain the estimated length of your treatment at your first visit. There are many factors involved in administering your treatment, such as lab results and physician approval.
Can a friend or family member sit with me during chemotherapy?
Your friends and family are more than welcome to check on you throughout your treatment. We ask that they remain in the waiting area due to our privacy policy.
Can I drive after chemotherapy?
Until you have experienced your first chemotherapy treatment you must bring a driver.
Do you have WIFI available?
Yes, each clinic is equipped with WIFI.
How should I dress for chemotherapy?
Please wear a button down shirt with sleeves that will easily roll up. You may be more comfortable if you bring a sweater or light jacket.
Can I eat during my treatment?
Yes, you may eat while taking your chemotherapy treatment. You may bring cold or room temperature foods, as we do not have accommodations for heating and storing meals.
Are children allowed in the treatment room?
Children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the treatment room.
What type of insurance do you accept?
Alabama Oncology accepts many insurance plans. If we do not accept your insurance, you will be notified prior to your first visit.

We accept Visa and Mastercard payments.
