Alabama Oncology takes the responsibility of protecting your personal health information very seriously. Your privacy is important to us! Please take a moment to read over our Notice of Privacy Practices listed below:
HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
Because we value your privacy, we have policies regarding who can be with you during certain portions of your visit to the clinic:
- We want all of you and your family’s questions about your cancer diagnosis answered. For that reason, your family and friends are always welcome in the exam room when you’re seeing your physician.
- Your family and friends are welcome when your Oncology nurse provides chemo teaching about your treatment.
- While you’re in the lab getting your vital signs measured and your height/weight taken, we ask that your family and friends remain in the waiting room.
- Due to space constraints and our goal to protect the privacy of all of our patients, we ask that your family and friends remain in the waiting room during your treatment. They may visit you for brief intervals while you’re being treated.
