Marissa attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May 2021. She began her nursing career at UAB, first working in the medical ICU at UAB with patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and then as an oncology infusion nurse at Kirklin Clinic.  Marissa joined Alabama Oncology in May 2023 as a chemotherapy certified nurse.  She graduated from UAB with a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in August 2023.   Marissa has her BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
